The North London Heat and Power Project is North London Waste Authority’s proposal to build an Energy Recovery Facility with associated buildings and works. It will replace the existing plant at the Edmonton EcoPark by around 2025 so we can continue to turn waste into electricity, heat and power. The existing plant is expected to reach the end of its operational life around 2025.

ACCIONA, the lead contractor for the Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) Project, working on behalf of the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) on the North London Heat and Power Project (NLHPP), is hosting its second Meet the Buyer event from 9.30am to 4pm on Wednesday, 7 February 2024 to encourage suppliers of all sizes to submit interest in working on the project.

Operational testing is underway at north London’s vast new Resource Recovery Facility (RRF) at Edmonton EcoPark, with over 40 borough refuse trucks taking part in waste delivery trials this December.

Following a successful first round earlier this year, fourteen new community organisations across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, and Waltham Forest are set to benefit from funding and volunteering hours in the second round of RE-Power Communities, a North London Heat and Power Project initiative, bringing the total to 29 organisations supported in 2023.
